11.May.2010 Irish tycoon faces multiple cases over Turkish holiday rental scams

The Public Prosecution Service is mulling where it would continue filing multiple charges to Irish property tycoon Kevin O’Kane after his alleged participation in a multi-million dollar scam involving holiday rentals in Turkey. According to reports, several families lost thousands of dollars with this scam.

The authorities are determining whether they have enough evidences to prosecute O’Kane. More than eighty families have been cheated out of their holiday home rentals on the Aegean coast.

The families have invested money for properties in Turkey. However, they discovered that the properties were never their own.  O’Kane’s firm Anka has spearheaded the sales of those properties in Turkey.

O’Kane maintained that he has no idea with the illegal dealings and stressed that he’s also a victim himself. However, the victims refused to believe him and continued with the civil case.
