07.Jun.2010 Travel agents gets criticized over holiday insurance

Travel agents are now facing criticisms from the public with the latter stating that the former is selling a lot of expensive holiday insurances which can be useless in the long run.

A research facility has been hired to check into the holiday insurance packages offered by nearly thirty travel agencies including the more popular ones such as Thomas Cook, Going Places, First Choice and Thomson.

The research revealed that all of the holiday insurance packages were uncompetitive in terms of the prices. About 17 of the agencies even failed to provide the necessary details on the basic holiday insurance policies that they are selling to the public.

There’s also a discrepancy in the prices offered by some agencies and the ones offered online. In fact, one agent stated that the holiday insurance for a two-week long vacation in Spain could cost nearly 81 pounds. However, the researcher’s saw a package for as long as 20 pounds for the same trip and same time duration.

People going on summer holidays tend to get travel insurance which cover everything from swimwear, clothing, swimming accessories and all travel items.
